Scissor Keeper and Needlecase May Meeting 2012

We welcomed Val Osborn to this month's meeting complete with her two different kits, one for making a scissor keeper and one for making a needlecase.
Val demonstrated the scissor keeper first  and showed us how to do Norwich stitch on the pre cut canvas that was to be the basis of the keeper.

We were then shown how to complete the keeper by making a cord and tassel.

After lunch we started on the needlecase using Double Gobelin Filling Stitch to cover the canvas.
Val then demonstrated how to complete the needle caseby lining the inside and creating ties.

Wallhanging

Dorothy created her wallhanging squares by cutting and recombining her decorated, printed and painted papers.

She then mounted them in groups of four and made four pictures altogether.

Well done Dorothy! They look very attractive especially with the writing.
